r EIlllSSIOI CONTHULS EXHAUST SYSTEMS 4A l7 a carburetor or ignition problem permitting unburned 7 Connect shop air hose to fitting on vibrator fuel to enter the converter producing excessive heat Catalyst beads will fall into can for approximately 10 If a converter is heat damaged the ignition or car minutes buretor problem should be corrected et the same time 3 when converter is eynpgy disconnect shop an the converter is replaced and all other components of hose remnve nan and discard bggdS ltllgengghaust system should also be checked for heat 9 lnsmhrefmbead can on Vibmmn 10 Connect shop air hose to vacuum pump and vibrator Beads will be drawn up and packed into place A A Y E Ac M F E NOTE If any beads come out of the tailpipe the can verter is defective and must be replaced 1 Raise vehicle 11 When converter is ful remove shop air hose 2 place vacuum hump hose on exhaust pipe and from vibrator and remove vibrator from converter tighten clamp fig 4A 15 NOTE Replace plug tf damaged durmg removal 3 Connect shop air 80 psi minimum to fitting Coat threads of plug with u nickel based anti seize on vacuum pump compound before installation 4 Remove plus fmm b m of V r 12 Install plug on bottom of converter and tighten to 40 foot pounds torque NOTE It may be necessary to apply heat directly to 13 Disconnect Shop ah from vacuum pump and the plug to ease removal remove Vacuum pump 14 Lower vehicle 5 Position vibrator on converter and lock in place fig 4A 16 o r as 6 Remove shop air hose from vacuum pump l 5 as r r gy g lz 4 lling 7 n Am nose R r ln FITTING n V K y gsm zlrfh oy vnsnuon y juli kl 7 a 7 AIR nose gwloe l rnrrmc cumv BA Q cumv V e cm vacuum 2 Pump l 71 1 HL Msoas Macao Flq 4A I5 Vacuum Pun FllI U l V lV WVTWl
